Mrs. Rhonda Gail Hays, age 39, of Doran, Virginia, passed away Thursday (June 23, 2011) at her home. Born May 18, 1972 in Richlands, Virginia, she was a daughter of Patty Sue Perkins Honaker of Swords Creek, Virginia and the late Rev. Miles Honaker. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Freedom Chapel. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Nathan and Jettie Honaker and maternal grandparents, Noah and Ocie Perkins.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband, Anthony Hays of the home; one daughter, Amanda Brooke Collins and husband, Justin Scott of Doran; one son, Jeremy Dwayne Harris and wife, Laura Elizabeth of Richlands; six grandchildren, Jordan Addison Harris, Anthony Cain Harris, Brodie Dylan Collins, Payton Makinley Collins, Abbigail Jean Harris, and Kaylee Grace Harris; one sister, Wanda Shelton and husband, Jody of Swords Creek; and one brother, Douglas Wayne Honaker of Roanoke, Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia, with Rev. Delmer Spencer and Rev. Ellis Whited officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Tommy Dye officiating.
