Mr. George Allen “Dick” Baldwin, age 60, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Monday (October 8, 2018) at his home. Born July 13, 1958 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Bert and Geneva Edith Fields Baldwin. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Baptist faith and was a disabled coal miner. He enjoyed watching Nascar and wrestling, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Elsie Baldwin and step-sister, Charlotte Fay Tucker Peck.
Survivors include four children, Daniel Baldwin and Tina, Brandon Baldwin and Ashley, Justin Baldwin and Tiffany, and Nicole Baldwin and Justin; the mother of his children, Pam Baldwin; four grandchildren, Blake Baldwin, Payton Baldwin, Peanut Baldwin, and Paisley Jade Shepard; one sister, Alice Faye Street and Jimmy; four brothers, Larry Baldwin and Mildred, Wayne Baldwin and Joyce, Bruce Baldwin and Barbara, and Ned Baldwin and Vada; step-sisters, Shelia Hale, Dolly Peck, and Sandra Miller and Dave; step-brother, Elmer Blankenship and Peggy; special friend, Dave Ball; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Gerald Lester and Rev. Wayne Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the White Rose Cemetery at Drill, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
