Obituary for Tobie Kiser

Tobie Kiser
Mrs. Tobie Cox Kiser, age 80, of the New Garden Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Thursday (February 22, 2018) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born April 24, 1937 in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Cox, Sr. and Ocie Mable Hubbard Cox. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended Hubbard’s Chapel. She was known for having a “green thumb”, enjoying gardening especially her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Hess, Joe Sword, and Doris Kiser, one son, Richard Hess, one sister, June Fife, and three brothers, Wayne Cox, Charlie Cox, Jr, and Clifford Cox.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Hess and wife, Louise and Mike Hess all of Honaker; one daughter, Sally Hess and Danny Yates of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Jessica Pruitt and husband, Keith, Silvia Hess and fiancé, Kevin McGlothlin, and Kim Tiller and husband, John; two special nieces, Brenda Deel and Nannie Sykes; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Wayne Harrison officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 1:30PM to go in procession.
Pallbearers will be Mikey Lee Sykes, Dustin Deel, Rick Cox, Chris Taylor, Jay Howard, and Tony Dillard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Sykes, Keith Cartmell, Eddie Cox, Randy Howard, Bobby Huffman, and Waylon Sykes.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday.
