Betty  Jean  Shortridge
Mrs. Betty Jean Shortridge, age 55, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (April 28, 2017) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born January 5, 1962 in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Flora Bell Ball Cook. She had spent most of her life in the area and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Eula Mae Ball.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, Daniel Lee Shortridge of the home; three children, Jessica Dawn Shortridge of the home; Jason Shane Shortridge and wife, Crystal of Swords Creek, and Brandon Lee Shortridge and wife, Samantha of Woodbridge, Virginia; four grandchildren, Lacey Shortridge, Austin Shortridge, Hailey Shortridge, and Lucas Shortridge; one sister, Ruby Keller; three brothers, William George Ball and wife, Barbara, Ronnie Wilson and wife, Linda, and Robert Cook and wife, Sherry; sister-in-law, Kathy Shortridge.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Chester Ball officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Honaker-Wilson Cemetery in Honaker, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 PM to go in procession.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday.
