Obituary for Shannon Darnell Hubbard

Mr. Shannon Darnell Hubbard, age 43, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Wednesday (October 5, 2016) at his home. Born April 19, 1973 in Richlands, Virginia, he was of the Freewill Baptist faith. A lifelong resident of the area, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Johnny Hubbard, paternal grandparents, John “Dub” and Minnie Hubbard, maternal grandfather, G. Paul Boyd, and step-grandfather, Verlion Ball.
Survivors include one son, Channing Hubbard of Honaker; his mother and step-father, Ruth and Lester “Moose” Ball of Honaker; two sisters, Angie Vanover and husband, Brian of Honaker and Dreama McGlothlin and husband, Brian “Bubba” of Belfast; two nephews, Colby Vanover and Jaden Campbell; one niece, Abigail Vanover; maternal grandmother, Helen Boyd; additional grandmother, Beulah Ball; several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Archie Hubbard and Rev. Randall Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompson Cemetery on Chestnut Ridge, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brian Vanover, Bubba McGlothlin, Jaden Campbell, Colby Vanover, David Taylor, Michael Boyd, Scotty Hubbard, and Eric Hubbard.
Relatives and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.
