Obituary for Bobby Lee Hess

Mr. Bobby Lee Hess, age 67, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Tuesday (September 13, 2016) at the home of his daughter in Richlands, Virginia. Born March 8, 1949 in Swords Creek, Virginia, he was a son of the late William Hobert and Tina Octavia Hess. A lifelong resident of the area, he had formerly been employed as a coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Irene Carter Hess; two sisters, Nora Mae Dye and Annie Hess and one brother, Harold Hess.
Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Haywood and husband, Jeff of Richlands, Virginia; three grandsons, Aaron Haywood and fiancée, Brittany Fuller, Christopher Haywood and fiancée, Haley Laney and Cameron Haywood all of Richlands, Virginia; one great-granddaughter, Adalynn Haywood; three brothers, Winston Hess and Jimmy Hess both of Honaker, Virginia and Billy Hess of Richlands, Virginia; six sisters, Peggy Perkins and Ruby Dye and husband, Lamuel both of Swords Creek, Virginia; Shirley Hess of Richlands, Virginia, Geraldine Hess and husband, Harold of South Carolina, Sue Hess and husband, Thurman of Blackford, Virginia and Shelby Lowe of Lebanon, Virginia; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Helping Hands Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery at Drill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Dye, Keith Dye, Stevie Hess, Randy Haywood, Christopher Haywood, Aaron Haywood an Lamuel Dye.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 2 pm.
