Obituary for Michael Steven "Mikey" Whitt

Mr. Michael “Mikey” Steven Whitt, age 48, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Saturday (September 10, 2016) at his home. Born January 20, 1968 in Columbus, Ohio, he was a son of Gracie Lee Price Lester of Honaker and the late Miles Wysor Whitt. He had spent most of his life in the southwest Virginia area. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by half-brother, James Keene, and several additional siblings.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Mary Maggie Whitt of the home; two daughters, Chastie Hutchinson and husband, Aaron of Swords Creek and Ashley Hale and husband, Kevin Clark of Honaker; three sons, Derick Whitt and wife, Chelsea, Dwayne Whitt and fiancée, Angel, and Shawn Whitt all of Honaker; one step-son, Billy Hartsock, Jr. of Castlewood; six grandchildren, Blair, Tabby, Milez, Jayden, McKenzie, and Kaden; two sisters, Rita Woodard and the late, Mike Woodard and Ann Keen and husband, Wayne; two half-sisters, Wilma Kinder and husband, Ronnie and Lucy Justice; special friends, Mikey Lester, Billy Lester, Emory Honaker, and Johnny Vance; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Raymond Lester and Rev. Farley Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery in the Clarks Valley section of Swords Creek, Virginia.
His children will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Keen, Aaron Hutchinson, Richard Shortridge, Mikey Lester, Emory Honaker, Kevin Clark, Johnny Vance, Kaleab Woodard, Blaze Woodard, Ethan Weibel, Lonnie Rasnake, Wayne Kiser, David Gilbert, Gerald Ball, Michael Cook, Blake Prater, and Tyler Sisk.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 5:00 PM Monday.
