Mrs. Frances Sue Yates, age 71, of the Campbell Hollow Road section of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Monday (April 14, 2014) at her home. Born February 15, 1943 in Honaker, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Ruby Dye Ray. She had spent most of her life in the Honaker area and had formerly been employed as a seamstress at both Honaker Mills and Lebanon Apparel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Yates and Jerry Yates, one granddaughter, Mahala Yates, and four sisters, Dorothy Ray, Gladys Tiller, Helen Connor, and Linda Stump.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Yates of the home; children, Linda Adkins and husband, Richard, Donna Tiller and husband, Leroy, Kathy Boyd, Terry Yates, Kenneth Yates, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, Dakota Yates, Whitney Yates, and Gary Ray all of Honaker, and Darrell Ray and wife, Bonnie of Lebanon; two brothers, Henry Ray and wife, Mary and Stewart Dye and wife, Carol; two sisters, Mabel Blackford and husband, Larry and Betty Pickthorn and husband, David; twenty-six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia, with Rev. Denver Barton and Rev. Clarence Yates officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Yates, Derrick Yates, Ricky Anderson, Joshua Ray, Lawrence Ray, Carl Anderson, Timmy Ray, and Dennis Street.
Relatives and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
