Mr. Lloyd Harris, age 85, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Sunday (November 11, 2018) at his home. Born April 24, 1933 in Honaker, Virginia, he was a son of the late Luther and Melissa Miller Harris. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, he was of the Holiness faith. He had formerly been employed as a coal miner and installing septic systems, but in later years he helped by doing different odd jobs with Lawrence Slate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Harris, Ervin Harris, and Marvin Harris, three sisters, Leona Sims, Thelma Harris, and Kathleen Harris, and three infant siblings.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Sue Harris of the home; one daughter, Wanda Sue Harris Crabtree of Richlands; four grandchildren, Ty Crabtree and wife, Elizabeth, Terry Crabtree, Trent Crabtree, and Trevor Crabtree; four great-grandchildren, Madison Crabtree, Grayson Crabtree, Devon Crabtree, and Grantley Crabtree; three sisters, Betty Dale and Arbutus Ratliff both of Honaker, and Darlene Breedlove of Abingdon; brother at heart, Rev. Aldie Allen; special, special friends, Dorothy Allen, Patsy McGlothlin, and Jimmy Hale, and special friend, Darnell McGlothlin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Phillip Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Darnell McGlothlin, Larry Combs, Ben Price, Bubby Hess, Jeffrey Ratliff, and Timmy Honaker.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
