Obituary for F.P. Helton

Mr. F.P. Helton, age 67, of Honaker, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (September 5, 2018) in a Richlands, Virginia, hospital. Born March 15, 1951 in Rowe, Virginia, he was a son of the late Noah and Carrie Bailey Helton. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Honaker Church of God for many years. He was a disabled coal miner and member of the UMWA. Having a love for the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, but most of all spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorene Lester, Jerlene McGlothlin, and Fayrene Yates, and infant brother, Curtis Helton.
Survivors include his wife of forty-years, Sheila Lester Helton of the home; one son, Gary Helton of Honaker; one sister, Eva Mae Hale and husband, Leonard of Drill; two brothers, Carlos Helton and wife, Geraldine, and Buford Helton all of Rowe; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia, with Rev. Larry Brooks, Rev. Paul Day, and Rev. Tim Lester officiating. Interment will follow in the Helton Cemetery on Stinson Ridge, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday.
