Mrs. Nell Ann Edwards Harrison, age 90, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Lebanon, Virginia. Born March 27, 1928 in Coeburn, Virginia, she was the eldest of ten children born to the late George Dewey and Goldie Gibson Edwards. Ann moved to Bristol, Virginia, where she worked at S.E. Massengill Company. While working in Bristol, she met and married the late Edward Randolph Harrison. The couple began married life in Bristol, moving to Honaker in 1957. A loving housewife and mother, she cared for her invalid daughter until she died in 1971. During which time, she managed a family restaurant for several years. She then began working at Russell Manufacturing as an examiner until her retirement. She was a member of Finney Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death one daughter, Kathy Lynn Harrison, five sisters, Mamie Kate Edwards, Christine Stallard, Lucille Nickerson, Mae Edwards Johnson, and Geraldine (Joe) Walling; one brother, Ruddy Edwards; sister-in-law, Lois Jean Edwards; three brothers-in-law, Don Lasley, William Walling, and Raymond Stallard.
Survivors include three children, Barbara Harrison of Woodbridge, Virginia, William Harrison and wife, Rita of Honaker, and Edward Harrison and wife, Betty of Abingdon; grandchildren, Christopher and Erin Harrison, Valerie Harrison, Billy and Tiffany Harrison, Luke Harrison and Kathryn Harrison; great-grandchildren, William Tyler Harrison and Kiley Nicole Lingerfelt; three sisters, Laura Jefferys, Ruby (Judy) Painter and husband, Edd, and Billie Lasley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Stephen Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Honaker Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1166, Honaker, Virginia 24260.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday.
