Obituary for James B. Smith

James B.  Smith
Mr. James B. Smith, age 57, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Saturday (July 7, 2018) at his home. Born April 16, 1961 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, he was a son of J.B. Henry Smith of Greeneville, South Carolina and Norma Thornton Thompson. He had resided in the southwest Virginia area for twenty-seven years. He was a disabled construction worker and attended Laurel Creek Free Pentecostal Church of God in Bandy, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Smith.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Linda Smith of the home; four children, James Bartley Smith, Jr. of Atchinson, Kansas, Andrea Reno and husband, Chris of Elwood, Kansas, Michael Smith and girlfriend, Alicia Vance and Harley Smith and girlfriend, Tammy McCall of the home; two granddaughters, Myia Reno and Sophia Reno; six siblings, David Smith and wife, Karen of Greer, South Carolina, Shirley Post of St. Joseph, Missouri, Rhonda Ross of Salina, Kansas, Jeana Hickey and husband, Bob of Pawnee City, Nebraska, Scott Smith of Florida, and Daniel Smith of Greeneville, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Laney officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Coxton Family Cemetery at Thompson Valley, Virginia with Rev. Derick Burton officiating. Interment will follow. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
