Obituary for Edna B. Owens (Farmer)
Mrs. Edna B. Owens,
age 93, of Bristol, Virginia,
passed away Friday
(March 23, 2018) at her
home. Born May 12, 1924
in Bee, Virginia, she was
a daughter of the late
Emmitt Sanders and Virgie
Mae O’Quinn Farmer. She
attended Trinity Baptist
Church in Bristol and
enjoyed sewing, quilting,
and gardening.
In addition to her
parents, she was preceded
in death by her spouse, Lawrence Owens, and four
brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Wilma Haynes of
the home; two sons, Gary Owens and wife, Barbara
of Craigsville, West Virginia and Larry Owens and
wife, Lisa of Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandsons;
three great-grandchildren, Alexee, Keelin, and Lake;
four sisters, Lona Turner, Erma Rose, Nellie Hamilton,
Margie Sanders; three brothers, Everett Farmer,
Ivel Farmer, and Raleigh Farmer; several nieces and
nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM
Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker,
Virginia with Rev. Matt Boone officiating. Interment
will follow in the Farmer Cemetery at Council, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive from 12-1 PM Monday at the
Honaker Funeral Home.
