Billy Roger  O'Quinn
Mr. Billy Roger O’Quinn, age 78, of the Big A Mountain section of Honaker, Virginia, got his angel wings on Saturday (March 3, 2018) at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. Born September 17, 1939 at Bee, Virginia, he was a son of the late Holly and Jenny Gilbert O’Quinn. He had lived most of his life in the Big A Mountain area and was a faithful member of the Free Christian Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was formerly employed as a coal miner at Clinchfield Coal Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local #1426. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Korea.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bob O’Quinn.
Survivors include his precious wife of fifty-seven years, Ruby Keen O’Quinn; two sons, Jeffrey O’Quinn and fiancée, Karen Salyers of Lebanon, Virginia and Darian O’Quinn of the home; a special grandchild by heart, Kylie Jo; one sister, Fern Keene of Dayton, Ohio; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gaye O’Quinn, Glenn and Lucy O’Quinn, Eugene and Edda Mae Rasnake, Sue Ball and Sue Keene; several special nieces, nephews, 7friends and loved ones also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Tiller and Deacon Robin Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9864 of Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Keene, Mike O’Quinn, Scotty O’Quinn, Carl Wayne Sykes, Tim Hess, Greg O’Quinn, James Ball and Earnest Ball.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Breeding, Garnell Gilbert and men of the Free Christian Church.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Tuesday at the Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM with Rev. Wayne Baldwin and Deacon Rick Breeding officiating.
