Winston  Hess
Mr. Winston Churchill Hess, age 76, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Sunday (March 4, 2018) at his home. Born August 7, 1941 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Hobert and Tina Hess. A lifelong resident of the area, he was formerly employed by Jerry Richardson as a coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora Mae Dye and Annie Hess; three brothers, Harold Hess, Bobby Hess and Jimmy Hess.
Survivors include two children, Tammy Dye and husband, Jeffrey of Swords Creek, Virginia and Stevie Hess and wife, Shirley of Honaker, Virginia; four grandchildren, Zackary Dye, Britney Reavis, Whitney Dye and Ethan Dye; eight great-grandchildren, McKayla Reavis, Eli Dye, McKenzie Reavis, Jaxon Dye, Winston Dye, Jamison Reavis, Waylon Mae and Emmarie Dye; six sisters, Sue Hess, Shelby Lowe, Ruby Dye, Shirley Hess, Peggy Perkins and Geraline Hess; one brother, Billy Hess and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Hess Cemetery at Miller Creek, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Zackary Dye, Ethan Dye, Rusty Reavis, Raymond Dye, Danny Hess and Jeremy Saunders.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Wednesday at Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
