Obituary for Roger Lee Crouse
Mr. Roger Lee Crouse, age 69, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away peacefully Saturday (February 3, 2018) at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. Born November 25, 1948 in Honaker, Virginia, he was a son of the late Lee and Maude Martin Crouse. He was a 1967 graduate of Honaker High School and attended Clinch Valley College. A former coal miner, he had been employed by Island Creek Coal Company at VP 1 Mines and was a member of the UMWA 1509. He had owned and operated Crouse’s Auto Sales in Honaker for several years. He was a skilled mechanic, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and loved riding his Harley-Davidson with his wife and friends.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, JoAnn Crouse of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Langston of Clayton, North Carolina and Karen Carrier and husband, Anthony Carrier, II of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Tristan and Gavin Langston, Grace and Faith Carrier; many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Wayne Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 5:30 PM Wednesday.
